Job Description

Passengers in Johannesburg CBD trust a school transport operator to get them there safely, and that trust is on your shoulders. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

Location: Johannesburg CBD, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What you'll actually do

Handle breakdowns calmly and keep passengers safe until help arrives
Inspect the bus before each trip: tyres, brakes, doors, emergency exits
Follow speed limits strictly; buses are tracked
Pick up and drop off schoolchildren only at approved points
Drive fixed routes and keep to the timetable

Must-haves

Patient and friendly with passengers
At least 3 years of bus or taxi driving
Punctual for very early starts
Clean driving and criminal record
Medically fit

Helpful, not essential

Experience on mine or staff transport routes
Fluent in more than one language
Tour coach experience with charters
