Mine Security Supervisor

You'll run a shift of officers at a retail portfolio in Bloemfontein, keeping posts covered and standards high. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

The work is in Bloemfontein, Free State, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Do surprise night visits to check posts
• Run on-site training on procedures and emergency drills
• Check that PSIRA registrations of staff on site are current
• Handle discipline issues fairly and keep written records
• Meet the client weekly on security concerns
• Order and issue uniform, radios and torches

• Matric, with a security management course a plus
• Confident writer of incident reports and rosters
• Valid Code 8 licence and willing to drive between sites
• PSIRA Grade B (Grade A for area manager posts)
• At least 3 years in security, including 1 as a supervisor
• Available after hours for emergencies

• Management training for growth to operations manager
• Provident fund and funeral cover

• Mention how you handled absenteeism or roster gaps. It is the biggest daily headache for security companies.
• If you have been upgraded through the grades, show the progression. It proves you grew on the job.
