Mine Security Supervisor

Officers look to you on every shift at a residential estate in Sandton. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Location: Sandton, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Plan the monthly roster to stay within legal working hours
• Meet the client weekly on security concerns
• Inspect guards on post for uniform, alertness and OB entries
• Post officers when the shift changes over and cover no-shows
• Order and issue uniform, radios and torches
• Run on-site training on procedures and emergency drills

• Valid Code 8 licence and willing to drive between sites
• Available after hours for emergencies
• PSIRA Grade B (Grade A for area manager posts)
• Firm with staff but fair and consistent
• At least 3 years in security, including 1 as a supervisor
• Matric, with a security management course a plus

• Computer skills for rosters in Excel or a workforce app
• Handgun competency for armed supervisor posts
• Mining or hospital security experience

• Company vehicle or car allowance on area roles
• Management training for growth to operations manager
• Cellphone allowance

• Say how many officers you supervised and on which sites. The number matters more than the title.
• If you have been upgraded through the grades, show the progression. It proves you grew on the job.
