Mine Security Supervisor

A security company in Tembisa wants a firm, fair supervisor for its hospital complex. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a hospital complex on the Tembisa side of Gauteng. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Check that PSIRA registrations of staff on site are current
• Meet the client weekly on security concerns
• Order and issue uniform, radios and torches
• Handle discipline issues fairly and keep written records
• Do surprise night visits to check posts
• Run on-site training on procedures and emergency drills
• Plan the monthly roster to stay within legal working hours

• Matric, with a security management course a plus
• Confident writer of incident reports and rosters
• At least 3 years in security, including 1 as a supervisor
• Available after hours for emergencies
• Firm with staff but fair and consistent

• Labour relations or basic supervision course
• Handgun competency for armed supervisor posts

• Company vehicle or car allowance on area roles
• Management training for growth to operations manager
• Provident fund and funeral cover

• If you have been upgraded through the grades, show the progression. It proves you grew on the job.
• Say how many officers you supervised and on which sites. The number matters more than the title.
