Job Description

Here your code runs in production, not in a drawer: an e-commerce platform in Cape Town CBD. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll be based at an e-commerce platform in Cape Town CBD. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What you'll actually do

Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs
Deploy through a CI/CD pipeline on Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab
Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning

You'll need

Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
Experience writing automated tests
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases

Helpful, not essential

Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
Public GitHub portfolio or published app
Knowledge of secure coding and the OWASP Top 10
