Job Description

A bank's digital channels team in Roodepoort needs a developer who can take a ticket from idea to production. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Location: Roodepoort, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

The work, day to day

Pair with junior developers to unblock them
Document how your features work for support and new developers
Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning
Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Write unit and integration tests before you merge

Must-haves

Experience writing automated tests
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages
