Job Description

Songs, stories, sandpits and routines: help a Montessori pre-school in Germiston give children a strong start. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

This post is in Germiston (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily.

What your day looks like

Watch children closely outside and keep the play area safe
Help aftercare learners with homework and reading
Run morning ring with songs, weather and counting
Set up daily learning areas for art, blocks, reading and fantasy play
Prepare simple, nutritious snacks and keep the kitchen hygienic
Clean and sanitise toys, mats and tables at the end of the day

What you need

Experience caring for children in a group setting, even as a volunteer
Paediatric first aid certificate
Clear Form 30 child protection check and police clearance
Warm, patient and energetic with small children

Extra points for

Montessori diploma or Reggio-inspired training
Basic music, art or movement skills for group activities
Experience with children with special needs
