Motor Mechanic (Independent Workshop)

This franchised passenger vehicle dealership in Boksburg needs a qualified mechanic who can handle services, repairs and electrical faults. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

You'll be based at a franchised passenger vehicle dealership in Boksburg. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Carry out scheduled services to the manufacturer's checklist and interval
• Diagnose engine, ABS and airbag faults with an OBD-II diagnostic scanner
• Do wheel alignments and balancing on the alignment bay
• Update control unit software when the manufacturer releases a campaign
• Keep your bay, tools and special service tools clean and counted
• Carry out roadworthy pre-checks on lights, brakes and steering
• Write clear job card notes on what you found and what you fixed

• Able to meet flat-rate or sold-hour targets
• Code 08 licence so you can road test cars
• Confident with diagnostic scan tools and wiring diagrams
• Motor mechanic trade test certificate (Red Seal) or occupational certificate at NQF 4

• Air-conditioning regas experience with SAQCC Gas registration
• Brand-specific training certificates from a manufacturer academy
