Motor Mechanic (Independent Workshop) – Experienced

Good with a scan tool and a torque wrench? This fleet maintenance workshop in Epping needs you in a bay. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

This post is Epping-based, with most of your time spent at a fleet maintenance workshop. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Replace clutches, brake pads, discs, shocks and timing belts
• Do wheel alignments and balancing on the alignment bay
• Keep your bay, tools and special service tools clean and counted
• Carry out roadworthy pre-checks on lights, brakes and steering
• Write clear job card notes on what you found and what you fixed

• Motor mechanic trade test certificate (Red Seal) or occupational certificate at NQF 4
• Able to meet flat-rate or sold-hour targets
• Neat with customer vehicles: seat covers, floor mats and no grease marks
• At least 3 years as a qualified mechanic in a dealership or workshop
• Code 08 licence so you can road test cars
• Confident with diagnostic scan tools and wiring diagrams

• High-voltage hybrid or EV safety training
• Air-conditioning regas experience with SAQCC Gas registration

• Manufacturer training courses paid by the dealer
• Staff discount on parts and services
• Pay at or above the motor industry bargaining council rates

• Put your trade test date and the car brands you know best at the top of your CV.
• Attach manufacturer training certificates. They can move you up a technician grade and pay band.
