Motor Mechanic (Independent Workshop) – Fixed-Term

This independent service workshop in Fourways needs a qualified mechanic who can handle services, repairs and electrical faults. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

The work is in Fourways, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day.

• Diagnose engine, ABS and airbag faults with an OBD-II diagnostic scanner
• Carry out roadworthy pre-checks on lights, brakes and steering
• Update control unit software when the manufacturer releases a campaign
• Carry out scheduled services to the manufacturer's checklist and interval
• Quote extra work you find and pass it to the service advisor for approval

• Code 08 licence so you can road test cars
• Your own basic toolbox
• Motor mechanic trade test certificate (Red Seal) or occupational certificate at NQF 4
• Confident with diagnostic scan tools and wiring diagrams
• Neat with customer vehicles: seat covers, floor mats and no grease marks

• High-voltage hybrid or EV safety training
• Air-conditioning regas experience with SAQCC Gas registration

• Productivity bonus on sold hours above target
• Pay at or above the motor industry bargaining council rates
