Multi-Skilled Maintenance Hand (Retirement Village) – Permanent

Every day is different here: small repairs, painting and planned maintenance at the shopping centre in eMalahleni. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll be based at a shopping centre in eMalahleni. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Get quotes from outside contractors and let them in for bigger jobs
• Patch, sand and paint walls, doors and ceilings between tenants
• Keep the maintenance store tidy and track stock used
• Hang doors, fit locks and adjust sliding door rails
• Lay and repair floor tiles and re-grout wet areas
• Service pool pumps, gate motors and garage door openers

• Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills
• Available for the occasional weekend emergency
• Honest and trusted to work inside occupied units
• At least 2 years of general building maintenance work you can back up with references

• Pool and borehole pump experience
• Basic first aid certificate
• Experience with a work order system on a phone app

• Meals on duty at hotel sites
• Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant
• On-site accommodation at some estates
