Multi-Skilled Maintenance Hand (Retirement Village)

You'll fix what breaks and prevent what might, around the retirement village in Epping. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Home base is a retirement village on the Epping side of Western Cape. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Clear gutters and fix minor roof leaks with sealant
• Change globes, fluorescent tubes and plug covers (no DB work)
• Get quotes from outside contractors and let them in for bigger jobs
• Keep the maintenance store tidy and track stock used
• Check fire extinguishers, emergency lights and escape routes on a monthly checklist
• Work through the maintenance log each morning and prioritise urgent requests
• Hang doors, fit locks and adjust sliding door rails

• Available for the occasional weekend emergency
• Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills
• Grade 10 at least; matric is a plus
• At least 2 years of general building maintenance work you can back up with references
• Code 08 licence to run errands to the hardware store

• Meals on duty at hotel sites
• Uniform and safety boots supplied
• Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant
