Job Description

You'll fix what breaks and prevent what might, around the rental property portfolio in Pietermaritzburg. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Location: Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What your day looks like

Keep the maintenance store tidy and track stock used
Change globes, fluorescent tubes and plug covers (no DB work)
Get quotes from outside contractors and let them in for bigger jobs
Service pool pumps, gate motors and garage door openers
Clear gutters and fix minor roof leaks with sealant

What you need

Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills
Grade 10 at least; matric is a plus
Available for the occasional weekend emergency
Honest and trusted to work inside occupied units
At least 2 years of general building maintenance work you can back up with references

Helpful, not essential

Pool and borehole pump experience
Basic first aid certificate
Experience with a work order system on a phone app
