Municipal Bus Driver (City Routes)

Steady shift work with a school transport operator in Fourways for drivers with a passenger PrDP. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is in Fourways (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Drive fixed routes and keep to the timetable
• Handle breakdowns calmly and keep passengers safe until help arrives
• Inspect the bus before each trip: tyres, brakes, doors, emergency exits
• Write the trip log with times, kilometres and fuel
• Pick up and drop off schoolchildren only at approved points
• Keep the bus clean inside and report any damage

• Punctual for very early starts
• Patient and friendly with passengers
• Valid Code 10 or Code 14 licence
• Valid PrDP for passengers (P)
• Clean driving and criminal record
• Medically fit

• Talk about safety records in the interview. Bus companies want to hear about zero accidents and on-time runs.
• Write "PrDP P valid until" with the date, right at the top of your CV. It is the first thing a bus operator checks.
