Night Shift Security Officer (Grade D) – Fixed-Term

Residents and staff at a distribution warehouse in Kimberley need to feel safe when they arrive; that is your job. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

This post is Kimberley-based, with most of your time spent at a distribution warehouse.

• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed
• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer

• Clean criminal record
• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends

• A Code 8 licence for vehicle patrols
• Previous experience at a similar site type

• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Stable long-term site contracts

• Arrive for the interview in neat clothes with your certificates in a plastic sleeve. It shows the discipline they want.
• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
