Night Shift Security Officer (Grade D) – Entry Level

You'll control who comes in and out of an office tower in Upington, and log every visitor properly. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

You'll report in Upington. Relocation is not covered for this one.

• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags

• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date

• Provident fund contributions
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training

• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
• Arrive for the interview in neat clothes with your certificates in a plastic sleeve. It shows the discipline they want.
