Nursery Worker (Seedlings)

Harvest time on a citrus farm near Kathu means early mornings, full crates and paid overtime. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

The work is in Kathu, Northern Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day.

• Pick fruit or vegetables at the right ripeness and size, gently
• Move irrigation pipes and check drippers for blockages
• Plant seedlings in rows at the spacing shown
• Wash hands and use the field toilets for food safety
• Clean and store picking bags, ladders and secateurs

• Physically fit for bending, lifting and climbing ladders
• Follows farm hygiene and safety rules
• Valid ID or work permit
• Able to work outdoors in heat, cold and rain

• Pruning experience on vines or fruit trees
• Tractor or quad bike experience

• Seasonal accommodation on some farms
• Chance of a permanent post after good seasons
• Farm transport from nearby towns
• Piece-rate bonus on top of daily wage

• Have your bank details ready. Most farms pay into a bank account and will not start you without it.
• If you have picked before, say which crop and how many seasons. Farms rehire experienced pickers first.
