Nursing Assistant (Rehabilitation Unit) – Experienced

A physical rehabilitation hospital in Mahikeng needs someone kind and reliable to look after patients who can't manage alone. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

You'll report in Mahikeng. Relocation is not covered for this one. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Keep the fluid and food intake charts accurate for every patient
• Take and chart temperature, pulse, blood pressure and blood glucose
• Help patients bath, dress, eat and use the toilet with dignity
• Hand out oral medication under the supervision of a registered nurse
• Make beds, change linen and keep the rooms clean and uncluttered

• Accredited home-based care or ancillary health care certificate for caregiver posts
• Able to work shifts, including nights and weekends
• Matric or NQF Level 4 equivalent
• SANC enrolment as an Enrolled Nurse or Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary for nursing posts

• A second South African language spoken by the patients you'll serve
• Dementia care or palliative care short course

• Transport home after late shifts at some facilities
• Overtime paid at time and a half
• Paid training in dementia and end-of-life care
• Uniform supplied

• Name the type of patients you've cared for, such as stroke patients or dementia residents, in your first CV line.
• If you're a caregiver, attach the certificate from the training provider, not just a letter saying you attended.
