Offloader (Container Depot)

You'll load and offload trucks at a beverage depot in Fourways so every delivery goes out full and correct. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

This post is Fourways-based, with most of your time spent at a beverage depot. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Offload containers by hand, counting cartons as they come off
• Stack returns and empties neatly for the next count
• Load trucks from the load sheet in drop order, last stop first
• Ride with the driver and carry goods into customers' premises
• Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
• Assemble or place furniture where the customer asks
• Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals

• Willing to travel on routes that return late
• Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
• Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts
• Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note
• Friendly with customers at the door
• Able to lift and carry heavy items all day

• Help to get your own licence through the company later
• Route-completion incentives in busy months
• Uniform and safety shoes provided
• Meal allowance on long-route days

• If you are learning to drive, mention it. Depots like to grow assistants into drivers.
