Offloader (Container Depot)

Trucks come in heavy and leave loaded at this container unpacking yard in Newcastle, and you move the stock in between. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

Home base is a container unpacking yard on the Newcastle side of KwaZulu-Natal. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Sweep the bay and clear shrink-wrap after each loading
• Assemble or place furniture where the customer asks
• Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals
• Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit
• Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop
• Ride with the driver and carry goods into customers' premises

• Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
• Willing to travel on routes that return late
• No criminal record
• Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
• Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts
• Friendly with customers at the door

• Help to get your own licence through the company later
• Meal allowance on long-route days
• Uniform and safety shoes provided
• Route-completion incentives in busy months

• Say what hours you can start. Loading bays often hire the person who can be there at 04:00 without fail.
• If you are learning to drive, mention it. Depots like to grow assistants into drivers.
