Offloader (Container Depot)

You'll load and offload trucks at a cement and brick yard in Richards Bay so every delivery goes out full and correct. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

This post is Richards Bay-based, with most of your time spent at a cement and brick yard. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
• Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals
• Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop
• Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit
• Sweep the bay and clear shrink-wrap after each loading
• Assemble or place furniture where the customer asks

• Friendly with customers at the door
• No criminal record
• Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts
• Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note
• Able to lift and carry heavy items all day

• Basic furniture assembly skills
• Past work as a driver's assistant

• Route-completion incentives in busy months
• Help to get your own licence through the company later
• Uniform and safety shoes provided

• Say what hours you can start. Loading bays often hire the person who can be there at 04:00 without fail.
• If you are learning to drive, mention it. Depots like to grow assistants into drivers.
