Offloader (Container Depot) – Permanent

Delivery days start early in Roodepoort, and a furniture retailer warehouse needs you on the bay before the trucks roll. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

You'll be based at a furniture retailer warehouse in Roodepoort. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Assemble or place furniture where the customer asks
• Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop
• Stack returns and empties neatly for the next count
• Sweep the bay and clear shrink-wrap after each loading
• Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit
• Offload containers by hand, counting cartons as they come off

• No criminal record
• Friendly with customers at the door
• Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
• Willing to travel on routes that return late
• Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts

• A Code 8 or Code 10 licence (a route to becoming a driver)
• Speaking more than one local language for customer drops
• Past work as a driver's assistant

• Help to get your own licence through the company later
• Meal allowance on long-route days
• Uniform and safety shoes provided

• Say what hours you can start. Loading bays often hire the person who can be there at 04:00 without fail.
• If you are learning to drive, mention it. Depots like to grow assistants into drivers.
