Job Description

You'll load and offload trucks at a parcel sorting hub in White River so every delivery goes out full and correct. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is White River-based, with most of your time spent at a parcel sorting hub. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

What you'll actually do

Assemble or place furniture where the customer asks
Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop
Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
Ride with the driver and carry goods into customers' premises
Sweep the bay and clear shrink-wrap after each loading
Offload containers by hand, counting cartons as they come off

What you need

Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note
Friendly with customers at the door
Able to lift and carry heavy items all day

What's in it for you

Route-completion incentives in busy months
Uniform and safety shoes provided
Help to get your own licence through the company later
Meal allowance on long-route days

Applying, step by step

Make sure the role, the hours and working in White River really suit you before you apply.
Keep copies of these ready to send: CV noting any loading, moving or delivery work plus clear copy of your ID with a certification stamp.
Send your details with the form below. Add one or two lines about similar work you've done.
If you're shortlisted you'll hear from us within 9 working days, usually by phone.

How2Apply recruits for this position on behalf of hiring employers around White River; applications go into our talent pool and shortlisted candidates are introduced directly.

How2Apply never charges you to apply, for training, for uniforms or for a "placement fee". If anyone asks you for money, it is a scam.

Tips to get shortlisted

Say what hours you can start. Loading bays often hire the person who can be there at 04:00 without fail.
Keep your CV to one page with your phone number big and clear. Depot managers phone, they seldom email.
