Online Tutor (Evening Shift, International Students)

You'll help learners who are stuck finally get it, one session at a time, for a tutoring centre in Potchefstroom. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

You'll be based at a tutoring centre in Potchefstroom. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Adjust your pace for learners with ADHD, dyslexia or anxiety
• Run live video lessons with a headset, whiteboard app and stable connection
• Write a short progress note for parents after each session
• Assess a new learner's level with a short diagnostic test
• Set practice work between sessions and check it next time
• Work through past exam papers and marking memos with learners

• Own transport for home tutoring posts
• Reliable internet and a quiet place to teach for online posts
• Currently studying at university, or holding a degree or diploma
• Available at least three afternoons or evenings a week
• Clear, patient way of explaining ideas
• Police clearance for work with minors

• TEFL or TESOL certificate for English tutoring
• Remedial or learning support training
• Experience with IEB as well as CAPS papers

• Flexible hours you choose each week
• Hourly rate that rises with your ratings and results
• Work from home on online posts
