Online Tutor (Evening Shift, International Students) – Permanent

Pick up afternoon or evening sessions with a remedial learning centre in Vereeniging and put your subject knowledge to work. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

You'll be based at a remedial learning centre in Vereeniging. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Plan sessions that target the exact topics the learner is failing
• Prepare learners for control tests with short timed practice drills
• Teach one-on-one or in small groups of up to six
• Log hours and sessions on the agency's booking system for payment
• Assess a new learner's level with a short diagnostic test
• Run live video lessons with a headset, whiteboard app and stable connection
• Work through past exam papers and marking memos with learners

• Available at least three afternoons or evenings a week
• Clear, patient way of explaining ideas
• Reliable internet and a quiet place to teach for online posts
• Distinction or strong pass in the subject you'll tutor
• Own transport for home tutoring posts

• TEFL or TESOL certificate for English tutoring
• Remedial or learning support training
• Experience with IEB as well as CAPS papers
