Order Picker (Cold Store)

This is steady, physical warehouse work at a building-supplies depot in Mamelodi, and nobody minds if it's your first job. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

The work is in Mamelodi, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Count stock during weekly cycle counts and month-end stock takes
• Label boxes with the correct waybill and route sticker
• Pick orders from pick slips or a handheld scanner, bin by bin
• Pack cartons, add fillers and seal them with tape guns
• Move pallets with a hand pallet jack to the dispatch lane
• Report damaged, short or expired items to the shift supervisor

• You can read product codes and count accurately
• South African ID or a valid work permit
• Happy to work shifts, weekends and public holidays in peak season
• Punctual, with reliable transport home after late shifts
• Clean criminal record (most warehouses run a check)

• Previous picking experience with a handheld RF scanner
• Living within walking or taxi distance of the warehouse

• Staff canteen with subsidised meals
• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekdays
• Permanent appointment for reliable temps after peak season
