Order Picker (Cold Store)

Pick it right, pack it neat, send it out: that's the job at a clothing distribution centre in Midrand. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is Midrand-based, with most of your time spent at a clothing distribution centre. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Keep aisles clear of plastic, cardboard and loose pallets
• Replenish empty pick faces from overstock racking
• Pick orders from pick slips or a handheld scanner, bin by bin
• Unpack returned parcels and sort them into resell or write-off
• Stack finished orders on pallets and stretch-wrap them tight
• Report damaged, short or expired items to the shift supervisor

• South African ID or a valid work permit
• Happy to work shifts, weekends and public holidays in peak season
• Punctual, with reliable transport home after late shifts
• Grade 10 or higher; matric preferred

• Chance to be trained on forklift after probation
• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekdays
• Staff canteen with subsidised meals
• Safety boots, overalls and freezer jackets supplied

• Arrive for the interview in closed shoes. Some warehouses walk you through the floor straight away.
• If you have done any stock counts, packing or even shelf work before, list it first. It shows you already know how to handle stock.
