Order Picker (Cold Store)

Every order that leaves this pharmaceutical warehouse in Tembisa passes through your hands first. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

The site is in Tembisa; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Pick orders from pick slips or a handheld scanner, bin by bin
• Move pallets with a hand pallet jack to the dispatch lane
• Count stock during weekly cycle counts and month-end stock takes
• Label boxes with the correct waybill and route sticker
• Unpack returned parcels and sort them into resell or write-off
• Stack finished orders on pallets and stretch-wrap them tight

• You can read product codes and count accurately
• Grade 10 or higher; matric preferred
• South African ID or a valid work permit
• Happy to work shifts, weekends and public holidays in peak season
• Punctual, with reliable transport home after late shifts
• Willing to wear safety boots, a reflector vest and gloves

• A valid forklift or reach truck certificate
• Living within walking or taxi distance of the warehouse

• Chance to be trained on forklift after probation
• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekdays
• Permanent appointment for reliable temps after peak season
• Staff canteen with subsidised meals

• If you have done any stock counts, packing or even shelf work before, list it first. It shows you already know how to handle stock.
• Arrive for the interview in closed shoes. Some warehouses walk you through the floor straight away.
