Outbound Insurance Sales Agent (Commission Plus Basic)

Selling financial products in Epping means knowing the rules as well as the pitch. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is Epping-based, with most of your time spent at an insurance telesales floor. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Call warm leads from the dialler and qualify them in the first minute.
• Treat clients fairly under TCF rules and never oversell.
• Follow up on quotes sent and chase missing documents.
• Visit clients at home or work for field advice appointments.
• Save policies when clients call to cancel.
• Read the FAIS disclosures and record client consent on every call.
• Do a needs analysis and match the client to the right product.

• Six months or more of sales, telesales or call centre work
• FAIS fit and proper: clean credit and criminal record
• RE5 passed, or willing to write it within the first year
• You are comfortable earning a large part of your pay in commission
• Honest selling, even when the easy sale is the wrong one

• A qualification such as a Higher Certificate in Financial Planning
• Completed class of business training for short-term or long-term insurance

• Medical aid and group life cover once permanent
• CPD hours logged and funded
• Basic salary plus uncapped commission

• Check your credit record before you apply, because a judgment or default will stop your FAIS appointment.
• Show commission history with real figures from payslips; interviewers trust numbers over claims.
