Job Description

Good factory hands stay for years, and this plastic moulding plant in Benoni trains from day one. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll be based at a plastic moulding plant in Benoni. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

What you'll actually do

  • Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run
  • Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones
  • Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
  • Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line
  • Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley

Must-haves

  • Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
  • Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
  • No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
  • Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check

Nice if you have

  • Some basic first-aid training
  • A food handler or basic HACCP awareness certificate

What's in it for you

  • Staff shop with discounted factory products
  • Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
  • Company transport on some night shifts

Applying, step by step

  1. Check you meet the must-haves first; recruiters filter on those before anything else.
  2. Keep copies of these ready to send: food handler or HACCP certificate if you have one, CV listing any factory or packing work, even short-term plus your latest school results or matric certificate.
  3. Fill in the short form below with your name and a phone number you actually answer.
  4. Watch for a call or WhatsApp from How2Apply over the next 6 working days.

Your application joins the How2Apply talent pool for this role, and we put shortlisted people forward to employers hiring in and around Benoni.

How2Apply never charges you to apply, for training, for uniforms or for a "placement fee". If anyone asks you for money, it is a scam.

How to stand out

  • Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
  • Do not wear jewellery or long nails to the interview if it is on site. Food factories notice and it counts.
