Packaging Line Operator (Rotating Shifts)

Here in East London, a snack food factory needs steady people who can repeat a task well for eight hours. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is in East London (Eastern Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
• Help the machine operator clear jams and reload hoppers
• Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line
• Stop the line with the emergency stop if anything jams or looks unsafe
• Weigh ingredients or additives against the recipe card
• Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones

• Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
• Available for rotating day and night shifts
• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
• Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
• Basic reading and counting for batch sheets

• Previous work in a food or FMCG factory
• Experience assisting on a packaging or filling machine

• Company transport on some night shifts
• Path to machine operator after six months
• Staff shop with discounted factory products

• Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
