Job Description

You'll keep the line running at a furniture assembly factory in Mthatha, feeding, checking and packing product all shift. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Home base is a furniture assembly factory on the Mthatha side of Eastern Cape.

What your day looks like

Follow lock-out procedures when helping with cleaning inside machines
Pack finished product into cases and stack them by batch number
Help the machine operator clear jams and reload hoppers
Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones
Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line

Must-haves

Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check
No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
Basic reading and counting for batch sheets

Nice if you have

A food handler or basic HACCP awareness certificate
Some basic first-aid training
