Job Description

You'll sort, grade and pack fruit for export at a table grape packhouse near Germiston. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is in Germiston (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

The work, day to day

Pack cartons to the export pattern and weight
Keep your packing station clean and free of stems and leaves
Stick labels and batch codes on each carton
Move pallets into cold rooms and record temperatures
Build pallets to the correct height and strap them
Follow food safety rules like hand washing and no jewellery

What you need

Basic counting and reading for labels
Valid ID or permit
Arrives on time for early shifts
Follows hygiene rules at all times

Nice if you have

Previous packhouse work
Matric for QC posts
