Packhouse Quality Controller (Seasonal)

Quick hands and good eyes are all an export fruit packhouse near Mthatha really needs from you. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll report in Mthatha. Relocation is not covered for this one. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Sort fruit by size, colour and blemish on the packing line
• Move pallets into cold rooms and record temperatures
• Help clean the line and machines at the end of the day
• Check fruit samples and record quality results on the QC sheet
• Stack empty cartons and punnets ready for the next run
• Follow food safety rules like hand washing and no jewellery
• Build pallets to the correct height and strap them

• Follows hygiene rules at all times
• Quick and neat with your hands
• Arrives on time for early shifts
• Available for the full packing season including Saturdays

• Forklift licence for palletising roles
• Knowledge of export standards like GLOBALG.A.P.

• Protective clothing supplied
• Transport from nearby towns
• Rehire for next season if you perform well
• Overtime pay during peak weeks

• If you want a QC post, bring your matric certificate and say you can write neat records.
