Job Description

Fruit from an export fruit packhouse near Cape Town CBD ends up on shelves overseas, packed by your hands. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is in Cape Town CBD (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

What your day looks like

Stick labels and batch codes on each carton
Follow food safety rules like hand washing and no jewellery
Keep your packing station clean and free of stems and leaves
Help clean the line and machines at the end of the day
Build pallets to the correct height and strap them
Check fruit samples and record quality results on the QC sheet

You'll need

Available for the full packing season including Saturdays
Follows hygiene rules at all times
Arrives on time for early shifts
Basic counting and reading for labels

Helpful, not essential

Previous packhouse work
Matric for QC posts

On offer

Rehire for next season if you perform well
Protective clothing supplied
Transport from nearby towns
