Job Description

Fruit from a citrus packhouse near Isando ends up on shelves overseas, packed by your hands. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Location: Isando, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

What you'll actually do

Sort fruit by size, colour and blemish on the packing line
Stack empty cartons and punnets ready for the next run
Move pallets into cold rooms and record temperatures
Follow food safety rules like hand washing and no jewellery
Build pallets to the correct height and strap them

You'll need

Arrives on time for early shifts
Valid ID or permit
Basic counting and reading for labels
Available for the full packing season including Saturdays
Quick and neat with your hands
Follows hygiene rules at all times

Forklift licence for palletising roles
Matric for QC posts
