Palletiser (Export Packhouse)

You'll sort, grade and pack fruit for export at a citrus packhouse near Secunda. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll be based at a citrus packhouse in Secunda. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Stick labels and batch codes on each carton
• Move pallets into cold rooms and record temperatures
• Follow food safety rules like hand washing and no jewellery
• Build pallets to the correct height and strap them
• Help clean the line and machines at the end of the day
• Check fruit samples and record quality results on the QC sheet
• Keep your packing station clean and free of stems and leaves

• Basic counting and reading for labels
• Arrives on time for early shifts
• Able to stand at a line for long shifts
• Follows hygiene rules at all times
• Quick and neat with your hands
• Available for the full packing season including Saturdays

• Rehire for next season if you perform well

• If you want a QC post, bring your matric certificate and say you can write neat records.
• Mention the fruit you have packed before and how many seasons. Packhouses rehire the fast, careful packers.
