Patrol Officer (Warehouse Perimeter) – Entry Level

You'll control who comes in and out of a distribution warehouse in Epping, and log every visitor properly. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

The work is in Epping, Western Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Watch for loitering, broken fencing and open doors during night patrols
• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty

• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date
• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Clean criminal record
• Speaks and writes basic English

• First-aid Level 1 certificate
• Previous experience at a similar site type

• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Stable long-term site contracts
• Provident fund contributions
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training

• Arrive for the interview in neat clothes with your certificates in a plastic sleeve. It shows the discipline they want.
• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
