Payroll Specialist (Bureau Service)

Payday is sacred, and at this retail head office in Midrand you'll make sure it lands right. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll report in Midrand. Relocation is not covered for this one. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Run the payroll, check variances and get sign-off before cut-off.
• Prepare EMP501 reconciliations and issue IRP5 certificates twice a year.
• Declare UIF on uFiling and assist staff with UI-19 forms.
• Process garnishee orders, loans and third-party deductions.
• Keep payroll files and banking details secure under POPIA.

• Sound knowledge of PAYE, UIF, SDL and the BCEA
• Hands-on Sage 300 People, VIP, PaySpace or SimplePay
• Strong Excel, especially VLOOKUP and pivot tables
• At least 2 years running a full payroll end to end

• SAPA (South African Payroll Association) membership or certification
• Multi-company or multi-country payroll exposure

• Study assistance for payroll certification
• Hybrid work outside month-end week
• Medical aid and retirement fund
• 13th cheque

• Put headcount, pay frequencies and software at the top of your CV (for example "900 staff, weekly and monthly, VIP").
• Be ready for a practical test calculating PAYE and overtime; take a calculator you know well.
