Pharmacist's Assistant (Basic, Retail Pharmacy)

Patients at a private hospital dispensary in Germiston rely on you to get the right medicine into the right hands. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll be based at a private hospital dispensary in Germiston. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Do cycle counts and flag stock discrepancies to the responsible pharmacist
• Explain dosage, storage and side effects to patients in plain language
• Receive stock, check expiry dates and pack shelves first-expiry-first-out
• Capture scripts on the dispensing system and check them against medical aid rules
• Process medical aid claims and fix rejections before the patient leaves
• Help customers choose over-the-counter and front-shop products

• Understanding of medical aid claim codes and PMB chronic rules
• Matric with Maths or Maths Literacy
• Able to work Saturdays and some Sundays on a rotation
• Accurate with numbers and careful with labels
• SAPC registration as a Pharmacist's Assistant (Basic or Post-Basic)

• Wound care or family planning counselling short course
• Experience in a courier or chronic medication pharmacy

• Fixed rota published a month ahead
• Paid SAPC registration fees at some groups

• Mention your daily script volume, such as "dispensed 150+ scripts a day"; it shows you can handle pressure.
