Job Description

You'll help a private hospital dispensary in Midrand dispense scripts, manage stock and advise patients at the counter. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Home base is a private hospital dispensary on the Midrand side of Gauteng. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

What your day looks like

Receive stock, check expiry dates and pack shelves first-expiry-first-out
Process medical aid claims and fix rejections before the patient leaves
Prepare monthly chronic packs for collection or courier delivery
Log Schedule 5 and 6 items in the register as they go out
Pick, count and label medicine for the pharmacist's final check

Must-haves

Understanding of medical aid claim codes and PMB chronic rules
Accurate with numbers and careful with labels
Matric with Maths or Maths Literacy
Working knowledge of a dispensing system such as Unisolv, Proscript or Healthbridge-linked software
Able to work Saturdays and some Sundays on a rotation

Extra points for

Experience with stock ordering through a wholesaler portal
Registered for the Post-Basic qualification if you currently hold Basic
Experience in a courier or chronic medication pharmacy
