Job Description

You'll help a private hospital dispensary in Bloemfontein dispense scripts, manage stock and advise patients at the counter. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

The site is in Bloemfontein; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

The work, day to day

Pick, count and label medicine for the pharmacist's final check
Process medical aid claims and fix rejections before the patient leaves
Explain dosage, storage and side effects to patients in plain language
Do cycle counts and flag stock discrepancies to the responsible pharmacist
Prepare monthly chronic packs for collection or courier delivery
Record cold-chain fridge temperatures twice a day

What you need

Friendly and clear at a busy counter
Working knowledge of a dispensing system such as Unisolv, Proscript or Healthbridge-linked software
Matric with Maths or Maths Literacy
Understanding of medical aid claim codes and PMB chronic rules

Nice if you have

Registered for the Post-Basic qualification if you currently hold Basic
Experience with stock ordering through a wholesaler portal
