Job Description

Patients at a primary health care clinic dispensary in Potchefstroom rely on you to get the right medicine into the right hands. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

This post is Potchefstroom-based, with most of your time spent at a primary health care clinic dispensary. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

What you'll actually do

Help customers choose over-the-counter and front-shop products
Prepare monthly chronic packs for collection or courier delivery
Log Schedule 5 and 6 items in the register as they go out
Process medical aid claims and fix rejections before the patient leaves
Explain dosage, storage and side effects to patients in plain language
Record cold-chain fridge temperatures twice a day

Must-haves

SAPC registration as a Pharmacist's Assistant (Basic or Post-Basic)
Understanding of medical aid claim codes and PMB chronic rules
Matric with Maths or Maths Literacy
Accurate with numbers and careful with labels
Friendly and clear at a busy counter

Helpful, not essential

Wound care or family planning counselling short course
Experience with stock ordering through a wholesaler portal
