Pharmacist's Assistant Learner (Learnership) – Fixed-Term

Work under a registered pharmacist at a community retail pharmacy in Vereeniging and keep the dispensary running smoothly. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

This post is Vereeniging-based, with most of your time spent at a community retail pharmacy.

• Help customers choose over-the-counter and front-shop products
• Explain dosage, storage and side effects to patients in plain language
• Do cycle counts and flag stock discrepancies to the responsible pharmacist
• Record cold-chain fridge temperatures twice a day
• Log Schedule 5 and 6 items in the register as they go out
• Capture scripts on the dispensing system and check them against medical aid rules
• Receive stock, check expiry dates and pack shelves first-expiry-first-out

• Accurate with numbers and careful with labels
• Friendly and clear at a busy counter
• Matric with Maths or Maths Literacy
• Working knowledge of a dispensing system such as Unisolv, Proscript or Healthbridge-linked software

• Fixed rota published a month ahead
• Staff discount on pharmacy and front-shop items
• Paid SAPC registration fees at some groups
