Pharmacist's Assistant (Post-Basic)

Accuracy is everything in this private hospital dispensary in Benoni; one checked label at a time. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

Location: Benoni, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Explain dosage, storage and side effects to patients in plain language
• Pick, count and label medicine for the pharmacist's final check
• Process medical aid claims and fix rejections before the patient leaves
• Log Schedule 5 and 6 items in the register as they go out
• Help customers choose over-the-counter and front-shop products

• Friendly and clear at a busy counter
• Able to work Saturdays and some Sundays on a rotation
• Understanding of medical aid claim codes and PMB chronic rules
• Working knowledge of a dispensing system such as Unisolv, Proscript or Healthbridge-linked software
• SAPC registration as a Pharmacist's Assistant (Basic or Post-Basic)

• Experience with stock ordering through a wholesaler portal
• Registered for the Post-Basic qualification if you currently hold Basic

• Paid SAPC registration fees at some groups
• Staff discount on pharmacy and front-shop items
• Sponsored Post-Basic studies for Basic assistants
