Pharmacist's Assistant (Post-Basic)

You'll help a community retail pharmacy in Boksburg dispense scripts, manage stock and advise patients at the counter. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

The site is in Boksburg; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying.

• Prepare monthly chronic packs for collection or courier delivery
• Record cold-chain fridge temperatures twice a day
• Do cycle counts and flag stock discrepancies to the responsible pharmacist
• Explain dosage, storage and side effects to patients in plain language
• Process medical aid claims and fix rejections before the patient leaves
• Help customers choose over-the-counter and front-shop products
• Pick, count and label medicine for the pharmacist's final check

• Working knowledge of a dispensing system such as Unisolv, Proscript or Healthbridge-linked software
• Able to work Saturdays and some Sundays on a rotation
• Friendly and clear at a busy counter
• Matric with Maths or Maths Literacy
• SAPC registration as a Pharmacist's Assistant (Basic or Post-Basic)

• Wound care or family planning counselling short course
• Registered for the Post-Basic qualification if you currently hold Basic
• Experience with stock ordering through a wholesaler portal
