Pharmacist's Assistant (Post-Basic)

You'll help a courier chronic medication pharmacy in Mamelodi dispense scripts, manage stock and advise patients at the counter. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

This post is Mamelodi-based, with most of your time spent at a courier chronic medication pharmacy. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Explain dosage, storage and side effects to patients in plain language
• Process medical aid claims and fix rejections before the patient leaves
• Help customers choose over-the-counter and front-shop products
• Capture scripts on the dispensing system and check them against medical aid rules
• Prepare monthly chronic packs for collection or courier delivery

• Able to work Saturdays and some Sundays on a rotation
• SAPC registration as a Pharmacist's Assistant (Basic or Post-Basic)
• Working knowledge of a dispensing system such as Unisolv, Proscript or Healthbridge-linked software
• Matric with Maths or Maths Literacy
• Accurate with numbers and careful with labels
• Friendly and clear at a busy counter

• Registered for the Post-Basic qualification if you currently hold Basic
• Experience with stock ordering through a wholesaler portal
• Experience in a courier or chronic medication pharmacy

• Paid SAPC registration fees at some groups

• Fixed rota published a month ahead
