Pharmacist's Assistant (Post-Basic)

You'll help a courier chronic medication pharmacy in Pretoria West dispense scripts, manage stock and advise patients at the counter. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

You'll be based at a courier chronic medication pharmacy in Pretoria West. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Receive stock, check expiry dates and pack shelves first-expiry-first-out
• Do cycle counts and flag stock discrepancies to the responsible pharmacist
• Pick, count and label medicine for the pharmacist's final check
• Capture scripts on the dispensing system and check them against medical aid rules
• Process medical aid claims and fix rejections before the patient leaves
• Help customers choose over-the-counter and front-shop products
• Explain dosage, storage and side effects to patients in plain language

• Able to work Saturdays and some Sundays on a rotation
• SAPC registration as a Pharmacist's Assistant (Basic or Post-Basic)
• Matric with Maths or Maths Literacy
• Accurate with numbers and careful with labels
• Working knowledge of a dispensing system such as Unisolv, Proscript or Healthbridge-linked software
• Friendly and clear at a busy counter

• Experience in a courier or chronic medication pharmacy
• Experience with stock ordering through a wholesaler portal
• Wound care or family planning counselling short course

• Fixed rota published a month ahead
• Staff discount on pharmacy and front-shop items
• Paid SAPC registration fees at some groups
