Physical Sciences Teacher (Grades 10-12)

A public high school in Germiston needs a teacher who can hold a class and lift the marks. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

You'll be based at a public high school in Germiston. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Teach your allocated classes and keep the pace of the ATP
• Supervise break duty, sport or a cultural activity each term
• Handle classroom discipline with the school's code of conduct
• Plan weekly lessons against the CAPS annual teaching plan
• Give extra lessons to learners who are falling behind
• Meet parents to discuss progress, behaviour and support plans

• Full SACE registration (provisional registration only for student or newly qualified teachers)
• At least 1 year of classroom teaching, including teaching practice
• Sound knowledge of CAPS and the assessment policy for your phase
• Clear record on the National Register for Sex Offenders and a police clearance
• You can manage a class of 35 or more without losing control

• Experience with remedial or inclusive education
• Coaching experience in a major school sport
