Physical Sciences Teacher (Grades 10-12) – Experienced

You'll plan and teach CAPS lessons that stick at a faith-based independent school in Mossel Bay. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

Home base is a faith-based independent school on the Mossel Bay side of Western Cape. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Use data projectors, smartboards or tablets where the school has them
• Keep learner profiles and a tidy teacher file for subject advisers
• Give extra lessons to learners who are falling behind
• Attend staff meetings, subject meetings and district workshops
• Meet parents to discuss progress, behaviour and support plans

• Sound knowledge of CAPS and the assessment policy for your phase
• Full SACE registration (provisional registration only for student or newly qualified teachers)
• At least 1 year of classroom teaching, including teaching practice
• Good spoken and written command of the language of teaching
• A B.Ed, or a degree plus PGCE, in the phase and subject you'll teach

• Experience marking for the NSC or IEB
• Coaching experience in a major school sport
• Comfortable with Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams for homework

• Paid SACE CPTD workshops
• School holidays in line with the school calendar

• Add your matric results or pass rates for your classes if they improved; hard numbers beat adjectives.
• Mention the extra-murals you can run, as smaller schools often choose the teacher who can also coach.
